This is a wizard battle, and … they don’t do much more than shoot magic missiles at each other. … Pew, pew, pew! — Tysto Commentaries,

[re: the books] Harry is very smart. Harry figures out a lot for himself. … Hermione’s great at spells. … Stuff that she could have read up on. … And in the movies they give her all the instinctual stuff too. — Pottercast,

      • Good stuff as PotterFicWeekly catches up with Potter 7 and has the usual great time. They get a bit excited at times and talk over one another, but it's not too bad. One of my favorite Potter jokes is that Umbridge is presiding over a "witch trial"... only the woman is trying prove that she is a witch.

      • More analysis from Tysto on Potter.

      • Sidetracked tries their hand at commentaries. They aren't big fans (the word is "apparate" not "appropriate"), and Rian is willfully stupid in the name of skepticism. Rian's questions have answers, but Jesse doesn't have them for him. There is a false start at the beginning and then some wizard rap, and then an explanation and the actual start. Gave up in frustration after 40 minutes.

      • A lot of reminiscing from PotterFicWeekly on the final Potter at the beginning, but a lot of good analysis and humor. It takes a full 15 minutes to get started and they screw it up, but they do a sync points to clear things up. I agree with Ryan that, while it's very quick and subtle, Snape purposely knocks out the Carrows. Good catch. Louis Cordice did indeed play Blaise Zabini in 6, 7, and 8. EDIT: Credit where credit is due: PotterFicWeekly is now the first group to do ALL EIGHT HARRY POTTER MOVIES. Whoohoo!

      • Pretty good work by MuggleCast in their first go. There's a fair amount of background (mostly from the extras) and fan nerdery but not much analysis or humor. Still, they love the film and have a good time talking about it. That's George who gets disarmed; he's wearing red. We see Fred's body dressed in green a little later.

      • Good work as Pottercast visits the final film before the next-to-last. They are disappointed by the way it includes parts of the book without explaining them to give them weight, but they also enjoy some aspects that are better realized in the movie. They do a fair bit of mocking of Bonnie Wright. 4, 3, 2, 1. WHICH IS UNFAIR. Voldemort's soul imp is in the celestial train station because it became a part of Harry and it is only at that moment that the two are separated. We are seeing the separation of Harry and Voldemort. The sequence overall doesn't make a damn bit of sense. Harry gets to survive the killing curse for a second time for no particular reason. Judge Lily and Harry's eye similarity for yourself...
