   Bootleg Director does a pretty good job with the Iron Man sequel, analyzing the plot structure and character development. However, they call him “Tony Starks” the whole time and can’t remember Pepper Potts’ name. They are divided, with love for the actors and hate for the slow-burn screenplay. They try to compare the film to the first one, to the comic book stories, and to Batman, but not very successfully.

   They’re watching a Russian bootleg that is apparently PAL, so I had to keep pausing them to sync with the Blu-ray.

   They forget that Stark Industries no longer makes weapons. They forget that the Iron Man suit isn’t really made of iron. They are baffled by Black Widow (the undercover Shield agent) and the Natalie Rushman cover (and her modeling photos that Tony googles). And they don’t understand that the military gave the Iron Man suit to Hammer to add guns to it and copy it; they weren’t trading it for a handful of guns. The expo happens every ten years or so and lasts for a whole year (that’s not very clear in the film). They don’t understand Tony’s health problems.

   “Who is that dude he’s talking to?” is Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla. Thor’s hammer is “Mjollner”, pronounced “MYOL-ner”. The J is a /y/ sound in Scandinavian languages.

   “Mjollner”, pronounced “MYOL-ner”.

   That reminds me of an interview between Kevin Smith and Stan Lee where Stan said his brother made up the name Mjolnir (one L in the comic) so it doesn’t mater how it is pronounced. I think he also implied that he (Stan) came up with Thor having a hammer in the first place. I was just surprised Stan the Man didn’t claim that he created all of Norse mythology. Maybe Bob Kane beat him to it
