Here’s today’s commentary for Iron Man 2. Warning! I try to sound intellectual! I talk about the presentation of public and private views, the presentation of women in the media, and the centralisation of America in global politics in the American media. You have been warned.

The Movie Fans Podcast is back with the second commentary track, for 2010’s Iron Man 2! So what does the team have to say about the sequel?

In this edition Retcast Movie Club, we watch and discuss Iron Man 2 in anticipation of Marvel’s The Avengers! Brandon invites Data, Jason, and Ren along for the fun-filled ride of this highly underrated Marvel film as we count down the days until The Avengers’ release. We stick mostly to the events of the film, but stray here and there to speculate about the summer movies of 2012 and the future of the Marvel movies, among other random discussion. Great commentary, we hope you enjoy.

Note: I didn’t edit this too thoroughly, since it’s a commentary and didn’t need much cutting or rearranging. I tried to sync up the audio as best I could, and fix what glaring errors I found. If, however, I missed something, please let me know and I will work to edit and reupload it (time codes would be helpful if you find specific audio issues).

This is also, technically, the first release of Retcast Lightning Round; there are still two more episodes being edited at the moment, and at least two more to be recorded. With the recent success of Frank Miller’s ’300’ and the impending release of Robert Rodriguez’ (and Quentin Tarantino’s) ‘Grindhouse, the gang bridge the gap with a commentary for ‘Sin City’. The Panel: Brandon, Matt, Greg and Flip.

Just over two hours of commentary. Our latest podcast on the site. Days after the DVD hit the streets. Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s comic anthology film noir. Sin City they call it. I’m staring at the cover. It smells like movies ought to smell …uhm …uhr.*cough*

Okay, enough with the hard-boiled monologue for now. Yes, our latest commentary is for Sin City, the movie based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel’s “The Customer’s Always Right,” “That Yellow Bastard,” “The Hard Goodbye,” and “The Big Fat Kill.” If you liked the flick, they’re well worth the read …although you’ll soon realize, you’ve seen them faithfully recreated by Rodriguez here.

Sin City is rated R for sustained strong stylized violence, nudity and sexual content including dialogue. But notably, though Sin City has very adult themes and wonderfully strong dialog it doesn’t have a lot of strong language…very little in the way of swearing. It fact they use the exclamation “yeesh” more often than any other.

The gZa and MPM strike again! Following the positive feedback we received for the Enter the Dragon commentary we plunged head first into following it up… 1 YEAR later… LOL! We finally chose a ‘sequel’ this time it happened to be ‘Year of’ the Dragon…

This was mainly chose because of the fact the film’s finally been granted a much anticipated DVD release, and more so that I really loved the movie and was keen to battle MPM once again…

So with little more than a cramped month’s repeated viewing and various research (read : Googleitis) on my part; and a decades worth of obsession and CoF inspired front pages on MPM’s, we decided to blast out another commentary for your enjoyment…
