I don’t care much for the daleks either, but I think that they haven’t changed them enough. The daleks are perfect for changing their look completely.

It is a bit scary. My 9-y-o nephew lasted 2 minutes, and my 9-y-o niece lasted 5.

The Doctor says at the end that the machinery got stuck and the previous batch of people’s fears were left in the rooms. That’s why the clown is there, and probably the PE teacher.

Amy is trapped in absolutely the dumbest, most perfunctory way. She seems to make no effort to escape at first—even tho she makes a nest next to the temporal engines, which presumably could be shut down to bring all the time streams together. There’s no actual person in the facility for her or the Doctor to talk to who can straighten things out. She never meets ANY other person, which means that people are quarantined in a gigantic amusement park SEPARATELY(?!) She spends 36 years in an amusement park and doesn’t find a way to enjoy herself. Rory has the glass that syncs up the timestreams so the quarantined can talk to visitors but he fails to keep using it, thereby allowing Amy to speed ahead decades. Amy gets very angry even tho the Doctor explained that she’s living decades in a few minutes compared to them. Rory (to his credit, I suppose) never mentions that he waited 2000 years for Amy. And old Amy wants to keep living even tho she’s known nothing but decades of loneliness and hardship.

Horrible. Just horrible.

They fail to mention Dave, where Eddie Murphy is a human-sized robot piloted by tiny people.

Mekhi Phifer’s first name is pronounced [meh-KAI].

Eva Myles’ American accent is hilarious and great until she says her daughter’s name is “Sally-Ann Louise MathilDER Jane” rather than “MathilDAH”.

The only sense I can make of the bridge toll bit is that maybe Rex has EZ (“easy”) Pass and normally breezes thru turnpike and Holland Tunnel toll plazas. However, I will note that crossing into New Jersey from Manhattan will also put you in “Newport”.

Good call on the Jeep at the beginning. The Jeep CJ didn’t have metal doors until the late ’70s. The Lincoln seen later is about right for 1969, but the green LED in the Apollo 11 command module is 25 years early.

NASA did use advanced Silence technology in Apollo. Without it, we never would have gotten to the moon. They just didn’t need the densest material in the universe.

That’s Bill Clinton’s rug on Nixon’s floor, for some reason, by the way (altho it’s missing the edge design). The rug in early 1969 should have been the light blue rug with the presidential seal (the eagle) in relief rather than in color. The curtains are period correct, however.

For my money, “Blink” was rather better than “Human Nature,” partly because I had issues with the Doctor hiding in a time and place that put Martha at such a disadvantage.

The volume of the episode makes it hard to hear the commentators at times (but easy to keep in sync ).

I think the gay agenda is designed to seem normal in 20 years. The reference in this one I think is pretty smooth and could easily go unnoticed by young viewers in 20 years when gay marriage is socially accepted. Think of how we don’t think anything of black people appearing on Star Trek even tho that was a big deal back then.

And I agree that it’s just insane that RTD didn’t have the Doctor save the crew (the ones he could) and take them to a different time and place to live.
