More great work from DVD Commentaries UK. There's a nice discussion of mores in 1978 vs 1998.

The comparison of the Halloween movies to the Superman movies and Michael Myers to Superman is also fun.

Good work by Alan Smithee. They do a lot of comparing it to the first film and to others in the series as well as the TV edit. There's a fair amount of background and a bit of humor. They're repeatedly appalled by JLC's wig and product placement.

I wonder if the blood-draining murder was inspired by Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon, a chilling scene that certainly impressed upon my childhood.

Solid work as the DVDC UK boys watch Halloween 2 and have mixed feelings about it. They give their usual excellent analysis of this film, slasher films in general, the whole series, and the characters. They discuss American Halloween celebrations vs UK.

Tom is much louder than the others. Needs the Levelator.

By picking up where the first one left off, it means that the first film ended before the story is over, and I agree with Tom that that hurts the first film.

Why yes, a Dario Argento commentary would be very welcome. Deep Reed, Bird w/ Crystal Plumage, or Tenebre might be good choices.

The argument at the end over whether or not Michael is a "normal man" is hilarious.

Good but rather flat commentary from Sofa Dogs. Good analysis and not too fannish, but not a lot of humor or even all that much enthusiasm, altho it improves toward the end. They discuss the film's trend-setting legacy, California location vs Illinois setting, Jamie Lee Curtis's quirkiness and datability, and sex near a jack-o'-lantern.

There's a bit of bleed from each others' headphones, I think, which creates an echo from time to time.

Magic hour (a.k.a. golden hour) is not any set time. It's just the hour or so around dusk and dawn when the light has a warm tone.
