This guy … thinks he can deal with [the prison break] with one hand tied behind his back. … He just has that arm stuck behind his back until he gets shot, and then he’s like, ‘Oh! I should’ve used the other arm!”— Tysto Commentaries,

Star Wars IV: A New Hope
by: Speakeasy
- Very funny (and somewhat punchy) take on the introduction to the saga from Speakeasy. The beginning of part 2 is annoying, tho; it's the entire Magnum PI theme, for no reason.

Star Wars IV: A New Hope
by: STAN.Podcast
- Good and pretty funny commentary from Simple Tricks and Nonsense. They frequently compare it to a fan edit version and turn the Death Star attack plan into a game of tic-tac-toe. I give it four out of five parsecs, despite the totally gratuitous attack on Clay Aiken.
Zarban on 2009-08-05 17:56:07- It's interesting to hear the perspective of big fans who were only exposed to the film for the first time with the Special Edition. That being said, there isn't much in the way of insight, and most of the jokes fall flat.

Star Wars IV: A New Hope

- Nerdy and quite fannish look at the film. They have a lot of fun and give the usual background, but that's about it.

Star Wars IV: A New Hope (special edition)
by: Rifftrax
- Fine assault on the science fiction classic, with all the wookie fart jokes and gay droid jokes you might want and plenty of Firewall jokes—altho a conspicuous absence of Hollywood Homicide jokes.

Star Wars IV: A New Hope (special edition)
by: BitsCast
- Very good stuff from BITSCOM, with reminiscing, comparisons to the theatrical version, and some light analysis. One of them has a bit of other audio trouble as well at times, with a few drop-outs. The file is fully-separated two-channel audio, which is a little annoying with headphones. Also, in the NTSC version, there are at least a couple of places where a couple of seconds of audio is repeated (about 0:00:30 and 0:14:00), which may affect your sync.

Star Wars IV: A New Hope (special edition)

- This commentary is cute. I'd like to hear the two of them comment on this movie again ten years down the road.

Star Wars IV: A New Hope (theatrical cut)
by: IHN.Radio
- Fannish and knowledgeable group commentary from IHN Radio, with a smattering of Kevin Smith in-jokes.

Star Wars IV: A New Hope (theatrical cut)
by: Down.in.Front
- Down in Front applies their patented formula to the sci fi classic of all sci fi classics. However, their attempt to take the movie on its own terms without reference to the sequels, let alone the prequels, completely falls apart about 2 minutes in. But it gets funnier and funnier until, by the end, it's laugh out loud for the whole ending. Damnation Alley. Heh heh heh. JMV and George Peppard in a heavily-armored recreational vehicle. Heh, heh, heh. When I saw that in the 1980s, my friends and I classed it with Death Race 2000. Another robot that gets bored and talks to itself? Marvin the Paranoid Android is the only one I can think of.
